23 - Knight of the Minster

Lincoln Cathedral was built to inspire and my design reflects all that happens within the iconic space, as well as some of the wonders of its architecture. The stylised trees commemorate the signing of the Charter of the Forest in 1217, owned by Lincoln Cathedral and displayed for all to see in Lincoln Castle.

Lesley is an arts practitioner and facilitator with a specialism in textile crafts. In 2015, she extended her skills to painting the Baron of the Crystal Hues which was inspired by the Cathedral’s stunning stained glass. This Magna Carta Baron is often displayed at the Cathedral, courtesy of the owner. Lesley is delighted that the Cathedral is sponsoring her to create a Knight for the 2017 Trail.
